As we bid farewell to 2024, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the events, milestones, and achievements that defined our year at Cutis Singapore.
From scientific collaborations to training sessions, 2024 has been a testament to our commitment to innovating and providing quality care for our patients. Here’s a look at some of the key moments that made 2024 a standout year for Cutis:
We kicked off the year with an Injectable Skincare Training session, arranged by the team from NeoAsia. Dr. Amoudtha and Dr. Cecilia took part in the event that focused on bio-remodeling, a hyaluronic acid injectable designed to deeply hydrate the skin. This helped our medical team to continually refine their skills to deliver quality care.
In February, we joined forces with Allergan for the 360 Project, a holistic approach to aesthetic treatment. This focused on patient-centered care that takes a patient from consultation to treatment to create the best version of themselves.
Our aesthetic doctors also took part in training sessions and discussions centered on Bio-remodeling 2.0, a technique designed to improve skin quality and rejuvenation in the upper face. Dr. Sylvia also attended the Filler Training in Bangkok to stay ahead of the curve and continuously learn and develop.
March was a month of global collaboration. Dr. Sylvia shared her expertise at the SAM Conference in Singapore, discussing the Allergan 360 approach. This is the first study to combine all Allergan Aesthetics products, including onabotulinumtoxinA, facial fillers, and CoolSculpting Elite, in a single case and presentation.
Meanwhile, Dr. Amoudtha presented a new abstract on Botulinum Neurotoxin Type E, a rapid-acting toxin that starts working within a few hours compared to the usual 72 hours of the current version of Botulinum.
Dr. Sylvia’s commitment to educating fellow practitioners continued at the Allergan Aesthetic Event in Auckland, where she talked about Toxin Immunogenicity. She clarified confusion about immunogenicity and helped clinicians better understand scientific evidence to make informed decisions for their patients.
In addition, Dr. Sylvia was present at the Anti-Aging and Aesthetics Medicine World Congress (AMWC) 2024 in Monaco. She was featured on Allergan Aesthetics’ “Meet the Experts” sessions live from the booth to talk about “From Simple to Regal – Transformation with the Full Allergan Aesthetics Portfolio”.
In April, Cutis was honored to be selected as a global participant in AbbVie’s BeBOLD Landmark Study. This is intended to investigate the long-term safety, efficacy, and patient satisfaction associated with repeated onabotulinumtoxinA treatments. She also sat down with the Allergan Aesthetics Medical Affairs Team for an illuminating interview about providing quality patient care.
It was also this month when Dr. Cecilia and Dr. Amoudtha completed several intensive training programs in the intrinsic applications of onabotulinumtoxinA, led by Dr. Narendra Kumar.
Training and skill enhancement were the focus in May. Dr. Cecilia completed a Filler Training program, organized by Allergan Aesthetics. This helped improve our doctors’ knowledge and skills to offer our patients safe and effective outcomes
Dr. Sylvia also represented the medical aesthetics category at AbbVie’s “Language of Patients – from the Inside Out” in Singapore. This global project by AbbVie and Allergan Aesthetics highlighted the importance of physicians truly understanding the language of their patients.
Additionally, Dr. Sylvia shared her expertise in medical aesthetics at the AWMC Asia’s 6th edition in Taipei. She delivered a talk on the effects of hyaluronic acid microdroplet injectable, insights on sculpting a more defined jawline, and Dermapen 4 microneedling.
June was a month of research and innovation at Cutis. Dr. Sylvia presented her research on the effects of combining CaHA fillers and MFU-V at the Reset Symposium: Regenerate with CaHA. The event showcased the versatility of said fillers for volumizing and bio stimulating, with Dr. Sylvia’s research focusing on addressing brachial laxity (upper arm skin laxity) and lower face rejuvenation.
She also participated in a Fireside Chat at the Tatler x Raffles City event, sharing her insights on graceful aging. This was complemented by the publication of our paper on ethics in aesthetic medicine, which gained recognition and was published in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal.
It was also in June when Dr. Sylvia took the stage at the Allergan Aesthetics Conference in Hong Kong. She gave a presentation on two key topics (1) Innovative Combination of HA Microdroplet Injectable with EBDs and (2) Intriguing Comparison of Botulinum Toxin Immunogenicity.
From hands-on training for CoolSculpting Elite to attending Allergan’s ‘Future of Aesthetics’ event in Kuala Lumpur, the second half of the year saw our team develop their expertise. This demonstrated our commitment to staying up to date with the developments and advancements in aesthetic medicine.
Dr. Sylvia participated in an exclusive expert sharing session at the renowned UMA Institute in Amsterdam, led by global Key Opinion Leader Dr. Jani van Logham. It focused on the innovative use of CaHA filler, a biostimulator product, in combination with HA products to achieve quality aesthetic outcomes.
The Cutis staff also attended an in-depth training session on injectables. This is designed to empower them with the knowledge they need to provide patients with quality solutions tailored to their unique concerns.
September was an eventful month for Cutis and Dr. Sylvia. It was filled with opportunities to share knowledge, engage in scientific training, and promote ethical practices in aesthetic medicine.
October was a month dedicated to patient empowerment. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we hosted a webinar on navigating a breast cancer diagnosis, featuring expert insights from Dr. Anthony Tang and Ms. Sheny John. We also celebrated the acceptance of our book chapter on medical ethics in aesthetics for inclusion in an upcoming publication.
It was also this month when our latest study was published in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal – Open Access! This pilot study explored single-depth superficial ultrasound energy and aligned with the trend of combination treatments to address the various components of aging, enhancing patient outcomes through synergistic approaches.
We were also proud to share that Dr. Sylvia has once again been elected to the Executive Committee of the Society of Aesthetic Medicine (SAM) for the 2024-2026 term. She has also been appointed as the head of the Research Subcommittee, which aligns with her dedication to advancing medical aesthetics through evidence-based practices.
Dr. Sylvia was invited to be the keynote speaker at the Ropes & Gray’s Inaugural Women’s Forum. She delivered an insightful session on medical cosmetic procedures, shedding light on the benefits and risks of aesthetic treatments.
Dr. Amoudtha and Dr. Cecilia were grateful to attend the Plastic Aesthetic Surgery Meeting (PASM) 2024. The event featured insightful topics in the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery, allowing attendees to learn from the experts and stay up to date with the innovations and safety guidelines.
Dr. Sylvia was also honored to present at the HA Microdroplet Injectable Medical Affairs Launch, held at the St. Regis Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Her presentation showcased the science behind the US FDA-approved hyaluronic acid microdroplet injectable designed to improve skin quality and boost hydration.
She also delivered a thought-provoking talk about the “Immunogenicity of Botulinum Toxin” to medical aesthetic practitioners in the Middle East. Organized by Allergan Aesthetics Middle East, the talk shed light on what immunogenicity means and why it matters, factors influencing treatment outcomes and long-term efficacy, and practices to minimize non-responsiveness and ensure optimal patient results.
Additionally, Mr. Gunther Scherz shared his expertise at the AMWC Southeast Asia 2024 in Bangkok, where he discussed patient-centric growth strategies in aesthetic practices.
As the year came to a close, Mr. Gunther Scherz presented at the Facial Ultrasound Course by Avinyaa Health, offering valuable insights into patient loyalty and satisfaction. The course provided hands-on training in facial ultrasound, showcasing the growing importance of quality care and safety in aesthetic practices.
As we look forward to 2025, we’re excited about the future and ready to continue our journey of transformation, one patient at a time. Thank you for being a part of our success.
