5 Aesthetic Treatments to Get Your Skin Holiday-Ready

The holiday season is upon us! This means lots of parties, get-togethers, and reunions, as well as taking lots of pictures. The festive season could also be a stressful time, with effects that can show up on your skin. This only means that it is time to give your skin extra TLC and undergo aesthetic treatments that can get your skin in top shape.

Having clear and healthy skin registers well not just in photos, but also in boosting your confidence when attending various events and celebrations. Continue reading as we list the five treatments for holiday-ready skin and a few other skincare tips.

1. Botox

Do fine lines and wrinkles make you look angry, sad, or tired even when you’re not? Botulinum toxin or Botox can help you look refreshed and energized for the entire holiday season. It works by temporarily blocking out the signal from a nerve to a muscle, which creates a softened or relaxed wrinkle appearance.

You can see initial improvements after four to five days, but maximum results show 14 days post-injection. The results can last three to four months, which can cover most of the festive season. Just be sure to choose a qualified and experienced injector with a conservative approach. This is to avoid complications and looking overdone.

2. Dermal fillers

For sagging skin and volume loss, dermal fillers work wonders. The procedure involves injecting a gel-like substance under the skin to fill in the gaps due to unwanted folds and creases. At Cutis, we have the two most common types of filler or filler materials: hyaluronic acid or HA (Juvéderm) and calcium hydroxylapatite or CaHA (Radiesse).

Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers – HA fillers like Juvéderm come in varying consistencies. They can be dissolved or reversed if you’re not happy with your results, which is not possible for other filler materials. HA-based fillers can be used to:

  • Volumize the lips
  • Soften fine lines and wrinkles
  • Correct folds and creases
  • Reduce puffiness in the eyes
  • Contour the face

Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) – CaHA fillers like Radiesse have the ability to act as a scaffold under the skin, providing a volumizing effect. It also works as a collagen stimulator, helping the body to produce new collagen. It can be used to:

  • Replenish volume loss
  • Smooth moderate to severe folds and wrinkles
  • Restore volume loss in the hands or correct hand wrinkles
  • Contour the jawline or lower face

It can take about two to three weeks for the fillers to fully settle and blend with the surrounding tissues. Also, the results are not permanent. HA-based fillers can last between six to 12 months, while CaHA last 12 to 18 months or longer.

3. Profhilo

If you’re dealing with dull skin or want to look younger and fresher this holiday season, Profhilo is worth considering. This skin bioremodeling injectable contains 100% hyaluronic acid and stimulates collagen, elastin, and proliferate fat stem cells. This can give your skin a smooth, firm, and luminous appearance.

Profhilo is also referred to as a “beneath the skin injectable moisturizer”, as it deeply hydrates and remodels the skin for a lasting dewy complexion. Just do take note that the protocol is two injections, scheduled four weeks apart. The results generally last six months, but can still vary from patient to patient.

4. VI Peel

For skin concerns that can affect the tone, texture, and overall quality of your skin, VI Peel might be right for you. It uses a chemical peel solution applied on the skin’s surface. It creates micro-damage on the outermost layer, causing it to “peel off”. It also stimulates collagen production and promotes tissue growth.

At Cutis, we have different types of VI Peel that suit different skin concerns. These include:

  • VI Peel – for signs of aging, fine lines and wrinkles, and pigmentation issues.
  • VI Peel Purify – for oily skin, active acne, and other concerns caused by acne symptoms.
  • VI Peel Precision – for sun damage, melasma, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
  • VI Peel Advanced – for aging skin 40+ or those with fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of elasticity.

VI Peel resurfaces the outermost layer, revealing clearer, healthier skin. This can improve the overall quality of your skin and give you that glowing holiday complexion. Typically, the results last between three to four months but can be extended with proper aftercare.

5. Dermapen 4 microneedling

If you’re looking to have a more radiant complexion or address different skin woes this holiday season, Dermapen 4 microneedling can do a lot. This automated skin needling device creates fine fractional channels and micro-injuries that also trigger a natural repair response that ignites collagen and elastin.

You can turn to this procedure to improve:

  • Enlarged pores
  • Acne scarring
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Stretch marks
  • Pigmentation
  • Loose skin

One great thing about Dermapen 4 microneedling is that it can complement a number of aesthetic procedures. There are also expert formulations designed to elevate the treatment. Other holiday skincare tips

The fun and the merriment during this season can sometimes lead to more sleepless nights and overindulging, resulting in a dull and lackluster complexion. Here are a few tips that can benefit your skin during the holidays.

Get enough sleep – Several nights of inadequate sleep can lead to eye bags, dark circles, and dull skin, which might show up in your holiday photos. Aim to get seven to nine hours of sleep each night to let your body replenish and repair daytime damage. Check out our previous blog for 7 Ways to Get Beauty Sleep

Indulge, but not too much – It is that time of the year when it is okay to eat more than usual and take advantage of the goodies during the holiday season. Just do take note that consuming lots of sugary foods can negatively affect your skin. The same is also true for consuming too many alcoholic beverages.

Exfoliate – If your skincare routine doesn’t involve exfoliating, it is time to include it. This can prep your skin for the holidays and help you avoid dull and lackluster complexion. Be sure to avoid harsh scrubs and exfoliants; stick with gentle exfoliation. Exfoliate not just your face, but also your entire body.
