5 Beauty Tips for Clear Skin

Clear, radiant skin can make you look years younger. However, poor diet, lack of skin care, an imbalance of hormones, and bad genes can cause your skin to appear aged and rough.

Whether you’re dealing with enlarged pores or an uneven skin tone, the right skin care regimen can make a world of difference. Follow these top tips for more beautiful and clear skin.

1. Use a Cleanser with Salicylic Acid

If you’re suffering from acne-prone skin, switch to a cleanser that will treat and dry up your pimples and keep breakouts at bay. Opt for a cleanser containing salicylic acid or bio-sulphur powerful active ingredients that helps to unclog pores and regulate skin cells. (Try using Purifying AZA cleanser with BioSulphur) Follow up with a light moisturizer as many acne-fighting cleansers can be drying to the skin.

2. Keep Your Hands Off Your Face

While you might not notice you’re doing it, every time you touch your face you’re transferring dirt, oil, and bacteria to your skin. Throughout the day you touch doorknobs, faucets, keyboards, buttons, and even your smartphones are items containing bacteria. Remember to wash your hands regularly and avoid touching your face throughout the day.

3. Undergo a Chemical Peel

Chemical peels work by removing the outer superficial layer of rough skin. They can also help rebuild collagen to form skin that is smoother with a more even skin tone.

Chemical peels can address a wide variety of issues, such as large facial pores, fine lines on forehead, liver spots, and lines under eyes. At the Cutis Laser Clinics, we offer several peels: Cutis Anti-Acne Peel to reduce acne, Cutis Vitality Peel to reduce pigmentation and improve texture, and the Cutis Crystal Peel to also reduce pigmentation and brighten the skin.

4. Don’t Pop Your Pimples

While sometimes it’s hard not to do it, resist the urge to pop your zits. Popping your pimples can lead to further irritation of your skin. Often times, the result is inflammation, scarring, and the spread of acne due to the introduction of bacteria. If you have acne, continue to disinfect the area with benzoyl peroxide, followed by an acne product to dry up existing acne and prevent further breakouts.

5. Try a Skin Laser Treatment

Laser technology has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years. One of the most popular options is IPL, or intense pulsed light. This technology targets patches of pigmented skin and breaks up the concentrated color for a more even skin tone. IPL can provide a range of benefits, such as skin brightening. It can also reduce the appearance of age spots and brown spots on face.

Laser genesis is another non-invasive laser technology that can help you safely and effectively minimize pores and treat uneven skin texture, wrinkles, and acne scarring. This uneven skin tone treatment works by stimulating new skin cell growth and collagen production. This results in the smoothing of fine lines and shrinking of pores.

Many women desire beautiful and clear skin but maintaining it is not always easy. The good news is your skin can look its best with a few simple skin care tips. Learn more about the treatments mentioned above from our US Board Certified doctor and skin specialist in Singapore, Dr. Sylvia Ramirez.
