5 Ways to Give Your Skin a Little More Love This Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! If you’re looking to celebrate this Valentine’s day with a dinner for two or any romantic event, you might want to treat yourself with something to look and feel your best. Non-invasive procedures can be a great help; they can rejuvenate your skin and improve its appearance with little to no downtime.

1. Hydra Dermabrasion (HydraFacial)

This multi-step facial treatment gently exfoliates the skin and a range of skin issues without redness and downtime. It is also gentler than microdermabrasion; it uses a medical-grade hydra dermabrasion device to cleanse and exfoliate the skin. This means no painful/harsh extractions and associated side effects.

Hydra dermabrasion is safe for all skin types and produces immediate results. Noticeable results can also be seen after just one session, which is also why it is requested before wedding, red carpets, and other special events. It is also customizable to address specific skin concerns.

Read our previous post to find out why hydra dermabrasion is more than a basic facial.

2. Laser hair removal

Shaving and waxing seem quick and convenient, but they can cause cuts, bumps, and burns. Laser hair removal offers a safe and a more effective way to reduce unwanted hair without the aforementioned side effects. This is also longer-lasting, which means that you won’t have to spend continuous time, money, and effort in removing hair.

Just do take note that you need several sessions of laser hair removal to see optimal results. Laser and other methods, furthermore, will not provide 100% permanent removal, but permanent hair reduction. Any hair left behind should be fine and light. Here’s what you can expect with laser hair removal

3. Botulinum toxin (Botox)

Do facial lines and wrinkles make you look and feel older? Botox can help, as it can treat lines formed due to repetitive facial expressions like frown and forehead lines, crow’s feet, and smoker’s lines. Botox works by temporarily blocking the signal from a nerve to a muscle to relax and reduce appearance of wrinkles.

Be reminded that it can take about a few days to 2 weeks for the results to appear, depending on the treated area. This is why it is important to consult an aesthetic doctor to know what you can expect and get natural looking results. Avoid going to salons and spas when undergoing any kind of injectable.

4. Dermal fillers

If you’re looking to have fuller and more defined lips, dermal fillers can help. Lip fillers (like Juvéderm) are commonly made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally-occurring substance found in the body. You can see the results almost immediately, but your lips are likely to be swollen. You should give fillers 24 hours to settle.

Just like Botox, the full effects of fillers can take several days to 2 weeks to show. Talk to your injector or aesthetic doctor to find out when to schedule the treatment. You should also only get your fillers from medical aesthetic clinics, and be wary of those that offer big discounts and perform the injections in a non-medical setting.

5. Other pampering ideas

Don’t forget to schedule or undergo other beauty prep procedures weeks or days before Valentine’s Day. These include:

  • A new haircut/hair treatment
  • Eyebrow shaping
  • Manicure/pedicure
  • Teeth whitening
  • Massage or spa

You can also treat yourself or a loved one with these procedures to get extra pampered on this Valentine’s Day. There are also other non-invasive aesthetic treatments to choose from like skin tightening, fat reduction, and non-surgical intimate area rejuvenation.
