Dr. Sylvia, along with Mr. Gunther Scherz and other esteemed colleagues, published a significant paper titled “The Primacy of Ethics in Aesthetic Medicine: A Review” in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global-Open Journal. 

This study explores crucial ethical considerations in the field of aesthetic medicine and the multiple ethical challenges brought upon by the shift from doctor-led care to a consumer-driven model. 

It explored/shed light on: 

  • The rise of aesthetic medicine
  • The impact of social media and marketing on patient perceptions and decision-making
  • Appearance and aging anxiety
  • Balancing patient autonomy with professional judgment
