Does Exercising Get Rid of Cellulite?

In a previous post, we discussed how caffeine can help reduce cellulite. In today’s post, we’ll be talking about how using a contouring gel containing caffeine, in combination with exercise, can help reduce the appearance of cellulite and keep it from returning. While exercise is not a cure for cellulite, it can reduce the amount of fat underneath the skin which in turn can smooth out stubborn cellulite to create a more aesthetic appearance. When used in combination with a topical skin care product that contains caffeine, this treatment can be highly effective in improving the look and feel of cellulite.

Causes of Cellulite

Cellulite is a common condition in which the skin takes on a lumpy, dimpled appearance. While cellulite most often appears on the thighs and buttocks, it can also develop on other areas of the body. Cellulite is caused by fat deposits that push through the connective tissues beneath the skin, creating an ‘orange peel’ effect.

While the exact cause of cellulite remains unknown, the condition is believed to develop when the connective tissue structure begin to weaken, allowing fat deposits to push past and into the top skin layer where they protrude.

Treating Cellulite

Studies have shown that a diet low in fat and an active lifestyle can help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Cardio is often the best exercise option for treating cellulite as it is quite effective at burning fat. Interval training, in particular, can help you reach your goals quicker as the process of varying the intensity of your activity can increase fat burning.

In addition to cardio, strength training can be useful for reducing the look of cellulite on the skin. By firming the muscles that lie beneath the cellulite, you can help smooth out the skin and alter the way that fat is presented. More muscle tone means that your body will appear firmer and less likely to succumb to cellulite. There are numerous exercises that can be used to help reduce cellulite, such as lunges, and squats, step-ups.

When a daily exercise regimen is combined with the use of a skin care product containing caffeine and other ingredients, you can achieve results even quicker.
