Get an Individualized Treatment with the Ultherapy SPT Protocol

Ultherapy® is a household name when it comes to non-invasive skin tightening. This US FDA-cleared procedure uses ultrasound energy, providing a nonsurgical approach to face lifting. The said energy triggers the production of new collagen, enabling the skin to achieve a visible yet natural lift over time.

The Basics of Ultherapy

Ultherapy® is the only FDA-cleared non-invasive procedure for lifting and tightening the skin on the face, brow, and under the chin. It involves the use of ultrasound imaging, enabling providers or aesthetic doctors to see beneath the surface of the skin, as well as the area being treated. This is to make sure that the energy is delivered to areas where it will be most effective and beneficial.

As mentioned before, Ultherapy® safely delivers focused ultrasound energy to multiple layers of the skin, including the SMAS (Superficial MusculoAponeurotic System). This is the layer typically addressed in cosmetic surgery. The energy then triggers the production of new collagen within the skin, which then leads to a significant tissue lift over a period of two to three months.

Ultherapy SPT Protocol

The SPT protocol is an individualized treatment planning and delivery technique. This enables providers to tailor the treatment depending on the unique needs of each patient. There are only 5 doctors in Singapore who are certified in doing SPT and our very own Dr. Sylvia Ramirez is one of them.

S – See

Visualization is an important part of the entire Ultherapy® SPT protocol. It includes sound knowledge of the patient’s underlying tissues and the use of visualization technology to determine the target tissue. This helps determine the right depth of the treatment while also offering insight to the patient’s overall quality of underlying tissues.

P – Plan

The planning stage involves physical and ultrasound scan examinations. This happens during the consultation in which we review the images to determine tissues that are rich in collagen. It is also the stage where we document the target tissue to plan or map out the right treatment technique.

T – Treat

The treatment stage involves the safe delivery of ultrasound energy where it will be most beneficial and effective. This also ensures proper treatment technique.

Providers or clinicians using the Ultherapy® SPT protocol have reported improved outcomes. The first two stages (seeing and planning) help set the foundation for successful treatments. The treatment stage then ensures that the right layers are targeted while making sure that the energy delivered is at optimal level.

Results you can expect

Following your Ultherapy® procedure, you may see an initial improvement. However, real and significant results appear over two to three months, which is the period where new collagen begins to lift the skin. Further improvements can be seen up to six months after your Ultherapy® session.

The results can last for up to a year, but this still varies from patient to patient. While it is true that Ultherapy® stimulates the production of new collagen, the natural aging process does not stop. It will continue to affect the elasticity and overall quality of your skin. Repeated or touch-up treatments are recommended to maintain the youthful results.

Are you a good candidate for Ultherapy?

Both men and women who wish to counteract the signs of aging or have a nonsurgical facelift can undergo Ultherapy®. It can benefit men and women who want to look more youthful or competitive by effectively tightening loose and sagging skin due to aging.

You can consider this non-invasive treatment if you have mild to moderate skin laxity or if your skin is starting to look saggy. Some indications include a lowered eyebrow line, loose skin on your neck, and wrinkles and fine lines on your chest.

Just do take note that Ultherapy® is not a replacement for a surgical facelift. It is, however, a good choice if you don’t want to go under the knife or if you wish to extend the effects of a cosmetic surgery.
