Hair Removal: What Makes ProWave LX Different?

While shaving unwanted hair is seemingly fast, easy, and convenient, it can be time-consuming and expensive. The cost of buying razors, shaving creams, oils, and associated products can easily add up. In addition, you’ll have to do it over and over again, every two to three days, especially if you want smooth and hair-free skin.

It can be tiring having to shave regularly, which is why it makes sense to switch to a more permanent solution. ProWave LX, which is a new addition to our hair removal procedures, can treat different skin types and nearly every part of the body. Continue reading as we explore ProWave and what it makes different from other methods.

The basics of ProWave LX

The Cutera ProWave system uses a specially tailored light source that targets and heats the follicles, disabling future hair growth. ProWave LX is a latter design that operates at higher peak powers and shorter pulse widths for a fast, effective, and comfortable hair reduction treatment.

What ProWave LX does is target the germ cell of the hair follicle using infrared light. It treats the hair in the active growth phase (anagen stage), zapping the pigment in the follicle bulb. It then destroys the pigment, which helps to permanently reduce the amount of hair in the area of concern.

What makes ProWave LX different

If you’re looking to get rid of unwanted hair without shaving, waxing, or plucking, you may want to consider ProWave LX. Here are the things that make ProWave LX different.

High peak power and short pulse width

As previously mentioned, ProWave LX delivers high energy levels with short pulse widths to treat the follicles. It operates at the highest infrared wavelength available in the market – above 770 nm. This is also considered the optimal level in achieving hair removal or reduction.

The system’s output spectrum, furthermore, has three distinct programs. This allows providers to customize the pulse width and wavelength to suit the specific needs of each patient.

Can target fine and light hairs

ProWave XL improves on the older or entry-level IPL technology for permanent hair reduction. The use of high peak power and short pulse durations can effectively treat lighter and finer hairs.

As with other light-based hair removal technologies, you’ll also need multiple sessions of ProWave LX. This is because not all hairs are in the same growth cycle. The number of sessions needed will depend on different factors, such as the areas being treated, hair thickness, and the hair’s growth cycle.

Suitable for various skin types

ProWave LX can treat different skin types (Fitzpatrick I-IV). Both men and women wanting to achieve permanent hair reduction can turn to this procedure and say goodbye to shaving, waxing, and other conventional hair removal methods.

Can treat small and large areas

ProWave LX can effectively treat small areas like the upper lip, as well as large areas like the back. It can help you get rid of excess or unwanted hair with shorter treatment time and lasting results. Treatment areas include:

  • Face
  • Chest
  • Arms
  • Underarms
  • Legs
  • Back
  • Bikini area

More reasons to consider ProWave LX

As ProWave LX targets and heats the follicles (instead of cutting the hair or pulling it from the root), you can expect lasting results. By attending all your recommended sessions, the hairs will take longer to regrow, and if they do, they’ll be thinner, finer, and sparser than before.

  • More permanent results
  • Quick and easy treatment
  • No cuts, bumps, ingrown hairs, and other related side effects
  • No need to shave regularly or book waxing appointments

We are happy to announce that our clinic has received the Bronze Award for Best Hair Removal in the recent Expat Living’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
