Removing Lines Around Your Mouth

They have many names – lip lines, nasolabial folds, smoker lines, marionette lines or puppet lines. No matter what you call them, lines around the mouth can make you appear older than you really are.

These creases are often caused when the ligaments around the mouth and chin begin to loosen, allowing fatty tissue in the cheeks to sag. Fortunately, smoothing out these creases takes just minutes at your local Botulinum Toxin (or more commonly known as Botulinum Toxin) clinic. Botulinum Toxin and dermal fillers are effective treatment options for eliminating lines around the mouth.

Treating Smile Lines with Botulinum Toxin

There are several types of wrinkles that can form around the mouth. Smile lines, also known as nasolabial folds, consist of lines that span from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth.

While marionette lines are vertical wrinkles found at the corners of the mouth, which can give the face a downturned expression. Vertical lip lines, also known as smoker’s lines, occur around the lips and are often caused by regular lip movements. Pressing the lips together while smoking can also cause mouth wrinkles.

Botulinum Toxin in Singapore is a simple and affordable way to temporarily eliminate lines around the mouth. During the procedure, which lasts a few minutes, a Botulinum Toxin injection is carefully injected in the muscles around the mouth to relax them. Relaxing the muscles helps to smooth out the lines to create a more youthful complexion.

Results typically last 3 to 4 months before you’ll need to undergo another session if you wish to maintain your results. While there is minimal downtime following the procedure, you may experience some minor Botulinum Toxin side effects such as redness, bruising, or swelling at the injection site which will subside in a few days.

Smoothing Mouth Lines with Fillers

Unlike Botulinum Toxin that relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles, fillers fill in the lines to create a more even skin texture. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Facial HA Fillers and Restylane provide volume under the skin to fill in the creases that cause mouth lines.

This nonsurgical wrinkle treatment is often preferred over Botulinum Toxin as the results are longer lasting. Dermal fillers are considered a safe treatment plan for lines and wrinkles. Possible side effects may include bruising that goes away within a few days.

Depending on the type of filler, results may last between six months and two years. You might be a good candidate for dermal fillers if you have signs of aging on your face, such as lines around your mouth. Fillers can help instantly improve the look of deep lines to give the skin a younger appearance.

Wrinkles around the mouth are a common and often inevitable part of aging. These lines often appear subtle at first but can deepen over time, making them more noticeable to yourself and others.

Just a single treatment can help smooth out mouth lines and make you feel more confident about the look of your skin. If you want to make your mouth lines and wrinkles to disappear, schedule a wrinkle treatment in Singapore at the Cutis aesthetic clinic.
