Surprise!: How to Open Up Your Eyes and Look More Awake

Nothing says tired more than sagging eyebrows, puffy eyelids, dark under eyes, and hollow tear troughs. It is not the kind of look you want to present at work, is it? you want to be perceived as refreshed, alert, rejuvenated , look more awake at all times. And it all starts with eyes!

Non-Invasive Treatments to Lift the Brows

  • Ultrasound therapy

The eyebrows frame not just the eyes, but the rest of the face as well, so if there’s one part of the face that says you are all set and ready, it’s your arches.

Sagging eyebrows can make you look sad and worried as eyebrows convey a lot of emotions even with just a twitch. Unfortunately, like most of the face, the brow area also gives in to gravity and the normal ageing process. Bone density and muscle structure underneath the skin degenerate over time: this leads to drooping eyebrows, hollow cheeks, and loose jowls, among others.

You can lift sagging eyebrows with non-invasive Ultherapy, an US FDA-approve treatment that deposits focused ultrasound energy deep beneath the skin to trigger the body’s own collagen-building process. The topmost layer of the skin is untouched as the energy is directed to the target layer, so you can resume regular activities right away.

By lifting the eyebrows, the hooded eyelids are also lifted to reveal the eyes even more, so you get two benefits from one Ultherapy treatment.

  • Botulinum Toxin (or more commonly known as Botox)

The same is true for Botox, which is an FDA-approved wrinkle and crow’s feet treatment. Botox temporarily blocks the signal from a nerve to a muscle so that the wrinkles formed by muscle contraction relaxes and softens. The Botox doctor injects into your squinting muscles, and the result is diminished crow’s feet and lifted eyelids that have been hooded by muscle contraction.

  • Silhouette Soft Thread Lift

This minimally invasive facelift procedure involves very fine surgical sutures being inserted into the soft tissue of the face to lift and support sagging areas for a more subtle rejuvenation. This process not only helps to raise and lift the outer brow area but it also reduces jowling along the jawline, and reduce sagging in the cheeks, nasolabial folds and the lower eye areas.

Under Eyes Treatment: Fillers and Eye Serums

  • Eye Serums

Dark under eye circles aggravate the tired look brought on by sagging eyebrows and heavy eyelids. To correct those, apply a dab of Dark Circles No More or ELASTIfirm Eye Serum and Eye Cream that are specifically formulated to address melanin and heme accumulation in the tear tough area.

Melanin accumulation can be attributed to going outdoors without eyeglasses, while heme, an insoluble constituent of hemoglobin, can pool under the eyes due to circulation problems. UV exposure can also render the thin, fragile skin under the eyes prone to fine lines and wrinkles. One of the most popular eye wrinkles treatment in Singapore is ELASTIfirm Eye Cream. Along with the Eye Serum, they can smooth out under eyes lines and wrinkles as well as crow’s feet.

Dark Circles No More and ELASTIfirm are part of Dr. Sylvia Skin Care products that are uniquely made for the eye area. These eye serums have been developed by Dr. Sylvia Ramirez, a Harvard-trained skin care specialist and filler doctor in Orchard area, Singapore.

  • Dermal fillers

For those under eye hollows called tear troughs, dermal fillers can plump them up so they level with the rest of the facial skin, creating a smoother transition from under the eyes down to the cheeks. Hyaluronic acid gel fillers like Juvederm and Restylane are the synthetic equivalent of naturally occurring compounds found in the skin that makes it plump and elastic so the body easily absorbs them with little to no side effects.
