Top Body Skin Issues And Their Solutions

As one of the largest and most complex organs in the body, the skin is prone to a variety of conditions. From age spots to saggy skin, the skin undergoes many changes over the years.  While you can’t always prevent certain skin disorders, you can usually treat them with the right procedures. Here’s a look at some of the most common skin issues and their solutions.

Problem #1: Cellulite

Cellulite appears as a dimpled or lumpy skin on the surface. However, the puckering occurs far under the skin. As the layer of fat beneath the skin build up and push against connective tissue, it begins to bulge. This is what gives the skin its characteristic cottage cheese or orange-peel look.

  • Solutions: BTL Exilis Ultra 360° and Acoustic Shockwave

With the combination of BTL Exilis Ultra 360 and Acoustic Shockwave, breaking down of the fat build up can now be safely done without surgery.

The Exilis Ultra 360° is a unique technology that combines monopolar radiofrequency and diffuse ultrasound to deliver heat energy underneath the skin layer. This helps not only to reduce cellulite but also to that eliminate fat and tighten skin.

Acoustic Shockwave such as BTL X Wave and Zimmer Z Wave uses the energy of targeted vibrations to break up the soft tissues reducing the appearance of cellulite and stimulating collagen production to improve elasticity, firmness and smoothness of the skin.

Problem #2: Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are caused by the overstretching and tugging of the skin. This often occurs during periods of rapid weight gain or loss, and during pregnancy. This is also common for teenagers to develop stretch marks following a sudden growth spurt. The result is long, narrow stripes or streaks that have a different texture than your skin.

  • Solution: Acoustic Shockwave

Cutis offers two shockwave treatments that have been clinically proven to improve the appearance of stretch marks: the BTL X-Wave and the Zimmer Z-Wave.

The procedure is used to stimulate collagen production resulting in firmer, smoother, and more elastic skin. The procedure works by creating vibrations and pressure within the connective tissues, manipulating the cell structures which causes the tissue to become softer.

Problem #3: Loose Skin

Aging skin is the number one cause of sagging. As you age, your skin loses collagen and elastin which acts as your skin’s support system. Without these essential components, the skin no longer appears plump and youthful.

  • Solution: Exilis Ultra 360 and Titan Skin Tightening

Titan Skin Tightening is a natural solution to loose skin. The procedure uses light energy to stimulate new collagen growth on the face, arms, legs, or abdomen. Titan uses a safe infrared light to heat the dermis resulting in tighter skin. The Titan hand piece also features a cooling mechanism that keeps the skin protected.

Besides from reducing cellulite, Exilis Ultra 360° is an effective skin tightening solution for the body. Using the big handpiece, the radiofrequency combined with ultrasound energy allows the heat to penetrate into the fat layer (subcutaneous tissue) without harming the skin. Exilis body applicator has been clinically-proven to non-invasively eliminate fat, contour tissue, tighten skin, and improve the skin’s appearance without discomfort and downtime.

Problem #4: Pigmentation

Hyperpigmentation has a number of causes, such as sun damage, skin injuries, or inflammation. Some people are more prone to hyperpigmentation, such as those with darker skin tones. Hormonal influences may also be to blame for pigmentation on face and body, including conditions such as melasma.

  • Solution: Limelight Facial

The Cutera Limelight is a non-invasive pigmentation treatment that targets problems at the skin’s surface, such as sun damage and redness. The facial works by delivering a pulse of light that draws out the brown spot to the surface of the skin allowing then to scab and fall off after three to five days. This results in a brighter complexion. The treatment is at least 30 minutes and results can generally be seen within one to three weeks.

Problem #5: Body And Back Acne

When acne develops on the body or back, it’s a common signal that your acne problems are likely progressing. Much like the face, the back contains sebaceous glands that secrete sebum. Over time, sebum mixed with dead skin cells and bacteria, build in hair follicles blocking the pores which results to acne.

  • Solution: Cutis Anti-Acne Peel

The Cutis Anti-Acne Peel is designed to kill acne-causing bacteria and clear out pores for reduced breakouts. The peel also stimulates collagen production and cell growth regeneration to help achieve smoother skin.
