What’s the Difference Between Vanquish and CoolSculpting?

Unwanted fat can affect not just your appearance, but also your self-confidence. If you have been struggling with stubborn fat for quite some time now, non-invasive procedures like Vanquish and CoolSculpting from aesthetic clinics in Singapore can be beneficial.

These two are modern aesthetic devices that have been clinically proven to treat problem areas where diet and exercise are not enough.

Both non-invasive procedures can destroy fat cells, but Vanquish does it with heat while CoolSculpting does it by freezing. They are both very effective in reducing fat, but work in very different ways.

The Basics of Vanquish

Vanquish is a non-invasive procedure that uses “contactless” radiofrequency technology to get rid of fat cells. It has the largest handpiece that can treat the entire abdomen in a single session, while also ensuring unmatched safety and level of patient comfort.

Vanquish fat reduction uses the patented RF technology to lose inches off your waistline, flanks, arms, and thighs without surgery or downtime.

How Does Vanquish Work?

This FDA-cleared device delivers safe and controlled radiofrequency energy that solely heats and targets fat cells to undergo natural cell death or “apoptosis”.

The effectiveness of Vanquish is due to the science of “impedance” which refers to the resistance of fat to heat compared to other tissues of the body. Since fat cells have a higher resistance to heat, this mean it can absorb more heat energy which effectively trigger the process of natural cell death.

Once the fat cells are exposed to heat, it dies naturally over time which will then be processed as waste in the liver and cleared naturally through the lymphatic system.

Vanquish is the only non-contact body contouring treatment without touching the skin. It hovers over the treatment area in a panel array of heat to target the fat layer and fat cells, without affecting the skin or the muscles.

The Basics of CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved non-invasive procedure that uses a controlled cooling temperature to freeze and destroy fat cells. It effectively targets specific parts of the body, especially common problem areas in the belly, thighs, double chin, and other smaller areas like bra and knee fat.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

CoolSculpting in Singapore permanently destroys fat cells using Cryolipolysis, which is a safe and controlled cooling technology. It involves the use of an applicator that is placed on the marked area and a vacuum pressure to draw the fat tissue between the cooling panels. This then causes the fat cells to start a process of natural removal in the body, which slowly reduces the fat layer thickness.

This treatment delivers noticeable fat reduction on areas, with the treated fat gone for good. This patented procedure is clinically proven to target, freeze, and eliminate fat cells in certain areas of the body without harming the skin or other tissues.

Latest CoolAdvantage Applicators

The latest advancement in this device involves the use of 3 latest FDA-cleared applicators (CoolAdvantage, CoolAdvantage Petite and CoolAdvantage Plus) to perform the procedure with shorter treatment times at lower temperatures.

  • CoolAdvantage

features 3-in-1 interchangeable and versatile cups, creating three different applicators to target different areas such as abdomen, flanks, and inner thighs. The treatment cycle takes 35 minutes per area.

  • CoolAdvantage Petite

is ideal for treating upper arm fat safely, effectively, and with utmost comfort. Its treatment cycle takes 35 minutes per area.

  • CoolAdvantage Plus

is the latest CoolMax Applicator designed to treat larger areas, offering maximum fat reduction for belly bulges and abdomen. The treatment cycle for this applicator takes 45 minutes per area.

Furthermore, CoolSculpting also provides the CoolMini handpiece to treat double chins and other smaller areas such as knee fat or bra fat.

One notable thing about the CoolSculpting device is that has a built-in safety mechanism that can detect if the skin is getting too cold. If this is the case, it will shut off automatically.

It’s no wonder that over five million CoolSculpting treatments have been performed worldwide because of its high safety profile and proven effectiveness.

Fire and Ice Combination

At Cutis Laser Clinics in Singapore, we offer Fire & Ice Body Fat Removal and Contouring Protocol, which is a combination of the two non-invasive fat removal technologies: Vanquish and CoolSculpting. It provides optimum body contouring and shaping results without going under the knife.

Other benefits include:

  • Minimal to no pain or downtime

  • Higher efficacy in permanent fat reduction

  • Effective for localized bulge reduction

  • Effective for circumference reduction

Summary of Differences

The main difference between Vanquish and CoolSculpting is that Vanquish increases the temperature of fat cells to melt them away while CoolSculpting reduces their temperature to freeze them away. The body gets rids of the treated fats naturally over the course of weeks or months.

Another difference is that Vanquish fat reduction doesn’t come into contact with the skin, as the device goes over the area of concern. CoolSculpting, on the other and, uses an applicator and a vacuum pressure during the treatment.

Vanquish is ideal for reducing fat all around the abdomen, while CoolSculpting is perfect for small bulges and pockets of fat that suit into the device like the lower abdomen and chin. You can, however, opt for Fire and Ice combination for optimal fat reduction results in different areas of your body.
