Muscles provide the force and strength to move the body. Coordination is directed by the brain but is affected by changes in the muscles and joints. Changes in the muscles, joints, and bones affect the posture and lead to weakness and slowed movement.
Loss of muscle tone makes engaging in several physical activities is harder as a person ages. The inevitable loss of lean muscle tissue is one of the primary contributor to the loss of muscle tone. Normal activities such as jogging, biking and playing sports may be harder to do and participate with.
